About Us

Meraki is a Greek word that means adding your soul or love into your work. This word defined everything I feel as I am creating art. This journey began with a $20 wood burner and ended in a pure obsession with the medium leather and all you can do with it.  

I, Kimberly Ghindea, found my passion when I discovered the calming and relaxing effects of pyrography. The way the smoke slowly lifted away from the wood was mesmerizing. I lose myself and all concept of time when I am burning. That feeling from day one until today, is the same.                                                   

From small beginnings of a new bracelet idea to create better habits, I have expanded into creating wearable art. 

I originally kept my business small and mobile since I was living in Europe at the time and wood burned bracelets was easy to travel with all over the world while keeping up with my etsy orders.

Then life changed, and I divorced, moving back to the states with the determination to expand my business. I discovered leather while looking for a larger medium to burn into so I can create larger designs. I dreamed of traveling and selling my jewelry at art shows. Within a year, my life began to fall into place. 

I met Marty, who happens to build large booths for a living and my little dream was a walk in the park for him. I ran full force and soon expanded to multiple shows in the midwest, my own pop up shop and displaying my jewelry in local boutiques.

I love creating jewelry with a symbolic meaning. I burn phrases on the backs of my bracelets to personalize them. I add healing stones and crystals to help protect us each and every day. I love using sustainable materials, that will age in time only to become more beautiful. I want each every piece I create to be treasured. 

I enjoy mixing the styles of my jewelry with the multiple facets of my personality. I love the bohemian vibe and lifestyle. I create many statement pieces that fall in this genre. Yet also, I need classy pieces to wear out or to the office. I find that a woman has to appease so many factors in life from business to casual to formal. I create it all. I want to be classy yet fun and always vibrant! I want to be bold, brave and loud, yet subtle and just enough. I express all that in all my different collections.

From enjoying all the shows I have attended, the best part is hearing all the comments and compliments. So far, I seem to have something for everyone. Thank you for joining me on this journey.
